Tell us about your debt and how has this affected you? e.g. anxiety levels, financial and accommodation stress:

Child support said I should have been paid more money but only updated the amount this year (back dated).
Obviously this means I never received the money as no body knew of the change.
Child support has been guessing the amount from older information to being with.
I am private collect and this works well and do not intended to start a fight with my ex.
Centrelink has started talking out $60 a fortnight, this combined with the lower amount of FTB because of a slight rise in child support has totally busted me. I’m home schooling my child because of illness and otherwise am only able to work a Centrelink appointed 8 hours a week. An impossible task, hence the home schooling, my child is loving this, thankfully.
I try not to freak out too much because it makes my illness worse. I’m unable to do a lot of going into Centrelink because of my illness and waiting on the phone for up to 30 minuets is going to use up my credit and place me into phone debt.
Ahh sux to be me atm. I appreciate that I have Centrelink and don’t abuse the privilege, but I don’t want to be lumbered with this burden to my other every day struggles.

How do you feel about the way the Government has handled this process?:

I feel the government doesn’t care.
I feel Centrelink is too reliant on automated communication and outcomes, with no alterations or recheck on initial outcomes.
I feel the government is intentionally trying not to fix these systems, very simply, to keep their costs low, their pay checks high and the disadvantaged right where they need them to be for the process to continue.
