Tell us about your debt and how has this affected you? e.g. anxiety levels, financial and accommodation stress:

On the first day of a much awaited holiday I received three letters from Centrelink: one notifying me of a $4237 debt, one warning me to pay it, and one notifying me of punitive interest.

It transpired that they had been sending letters to my old residence (of three residences ago) despite having my latest address, phone number and email.

It was easy getting Centrelink to reassess my debt, but the reassessment failed because the bank statements I lodged in person and online were somehow both never received and too blurry to read.

With each phone call there is a different voice and a different story.

I have requested an Authorised Review Officer but they refuse this, demanding that I first submit bank statements for months outside the debt period which keeps changing.

I used to work for the government, but they don't know how much I earned and when I received it.

How do you feel about the way the Government has handled this process?:

It is tremendously frustrating dealing with an organisation that is beholden to an clumsy machine.

I know the debt is wrong, but they seem to want to everything to stop me demonstrating this.
