Has your case been referred to a collection agency?:
Payment Type:
Appealing Debt?:
Yes but I lost
Tell us about your debt and how has this affected you? e.g. anxiety levels, financial and accommodation stress:

I spoke to Human Services late March 2019 and Probe Group, debt amount $800 plus $100. I discussed with the collection agency and filed an appeal which I have not received a response until I received a centre-link letter dated before my call payment of debt amount.

I am having a lot of stress for I am trying hard to catch up with all my financial loss since 2014 when I had an operation from my brain tumour and lost my business.

The way it was explained to me that I was overpayed because I got married and the fact that centrelink got all the information from my husband and was submitted and I have gone through a lot from my brain tumour and to the point that I went back to work to be able to sponsor my husband to come to Australia to be with me.
Centrelink might have something to do with my tax refund that still on hold without explanation , i don't know what exactly is going on and if ever i did owe this money I was not given an explanation and given an option on how to pay it.

I am looking forward to get my tax back and hopefully to borrow some money from friends to apply for visa of my husband.
I lost my job because of stress and anxiety and applied to centrelink for job search allowance, and been mucked around up to this date I never received any cents from my application been to centrelink and job placement agency and got a message they have not finalised anything, I had to find a job luckily I did without their help but might cost me my job because of centrelink ignoring my case.

How do you feel about the way the Government has handled this process?:

It's been handled unfair and unjust, no compassion for real people that needs help and not only taking away our entitlement but ripping us off by making us owe money which we should not owe.
