Tell us about your debt and how has this affected you? e.g. anxiety levels, financial and accommodation stress:

I only heard about this debt four years later (2016), when they kept my tax return... I had been getting missed calls from debt collectors (as I never answer my phone to numbers I don't know) for a few months. I chose to ignore the calls as in my mind I 100% knew I owed no money to anyone... The timeframe of when they said I was working does not line up. I went into the Centrelink office weeks before I actually started with the company (that I still work for) to cancel payments, and my bank statements prove that Centrelink stopped paying me when I started my new job.

How do you feel about the way the Government has handled this process?:

It's outrageous. I can't call Centrelink, I can't get a reply via email, and they send a debt collector after me without even notifying me of a possible error. I have been anxious, angry, sad, and even been close to suicide from the thought they have probably ruined my credit rating for the foreseeable future. I once even wrote a suicide note that mentioned the government can have their wish, they can take this money from my cold dead hands
