Apparently I was reporting wrong, which I still don't get. I also resigned from my job end of April 2012 but they wanted the missing payslips to end of June. No amount of explaining to them that they didnt exist because I was not working helped. So they added on what I would have earnt and made it my debt. I still do not understand it. This caused me some financial difficulties due to paying back $100 per fortnight. I usually use my advance to get me through Christmas but could not do that last Christmas. I felt as though I was the only one until I started reading about very similar stories.
One person I spoke with explained to me how I may have a debt due to wrong reporting but did not understand why it didn't work out in the end. I reported the same amount every fortnight. The others who I had to deal with were rude, condescending, and very bully like. I was told I was free to appeal the decision but I would have to make a payment arrangement with them and stick to it while the appeal was happening. They said $100 per fortnight. I did not have the choice to argue or barter. I was told I could ring them in 3 months to review it. I didnt bother. I was treated as though I was a criminal.
