i was working as a Housemaid in hotel/motels, i declared my income every fortnight as required to report.
i didnt earn very much a financial year but it was good for me to try earn an income and be functional.i did a tax return every year and was given a tax return , my debt was way more than i would earn in a year at BGOC , i was very suprised with the letter of debt of 12,799 i have started paying 30dollars a fortnight it is down to 11,769 as of 22of August 2019, it is affecting me financially and also emotionally and mentally , as i have a debt im not permitted to recive advance payment so thias creates financial stress as used advances for car rego and maintenence i have since had to sell my car, since the alleged debt i am now in a relationship and we buying our home im scared all the time that im going get anothe debt due to the way they estimate and determine earnings ,i have been nothing bbut honest with centrelink
At the time of reciving debt i was Challenging Centrelink on behalf of my son who was in a motorcycle accident who was denied for five years so i appealed twice and son was finally put on DSP benefit which was told should have been 6mths after accident.
i didnt and havent got the mental or emotional energy to fight them ,i provided again my bank statements and also payslips for the said dates and they still insisted i had a debt ,i really would like to see this rectified as how can they double dip a persons income and if a debt why give me a tax return for those years

How do you feel about the way the Government has handled this process?:

poorly and hiding behind their outdated system and told me they dont make mistakes
