Tell us about your debt and how has this affected you? e.g. anxiety levels, financial and accommodation stress:

I was contacted by Dun & Bradstreet demanding payment for a debt and this was the first moment I had ever heard about it. Centrelink had sent all mail to a previous address I was living at so I had no idea they had raised a debt against me until I was being harassed by debt collectors for repayment. They obviously had my phone number if D&B could call me, their robo-debt system just makes no effort to contact victims personally until it's too late.

This added significant stress and anxiety to my life over the Christmas period, being a single income household, while I waited for an appeal. I was fortunate that I worked for a large company 6 years ago and they could still get my payslips from back then for me.

It turned out it was a FALSE DEBT and I did not owe anything in the end. All that harrassment and stress was for nothing!

How do you feel about the way the Government has handled this process?:

Incredible poorly. Because I was given a FAKE debt, they stressed me out, they stressed out the poor government workers who had to deal with my complains and in the end they got NOTHING form me because I didn't owe anything. They lost more money than they actually tried to scam out of me.
