Tell us about your debt and how has this affected you? e.g. anxiety levels, financial and accommodation stress:

Was given the debt, couldn't pay our rent anymore. Had to move my family around for six months until we found a house we could afford. I reported all my income I made from 3 casual jobs, even when I wasn't actually given the money by some slack bosses, I still reported and lost out twice. I tried fighting the debt for 3 months, Centrelink told me to talk to the taxation office and ATO told me to talk to Centrelink and round and round I went, meanwhile my partner got sicker and my son struggled to cope with constant moving and a school where they didn't know how to understand. I almost gave up big time, but my family is amazing and I'm just trying to look after them. Maybe another appeal to a understaffed clogged up system might help....not. I've tried everything, it's not my debt!!!!!!

How do you feel about the way the Government has handled this process?:

The staff at my local Centrelink are great, but the government has failed me. I've paid tax for over 25 years and now I need thier help. But their too busy trying to save a dollar at the expense of people like me and my family.
