Tell us about your debt and how has this affected you? e.g. anxiety levels, financial and accommodation stress:

I was completely shocked to receive a phone call announcing that I have to pay back $9,600 from overpayments from 2013-2016 and was told I could only discuss this over the phone so I asked for documentation to be posted and was told yes but of course nothing came so I went to my local office waited for an hour and a half to submit my earnings and bank statements and the staff member was uninterested in discussing the matter and faxed them off somewhere and I never got any verification that it was received and was dismissed from the conversation as she said my session of 10 minutes was up!? Never has that been said to me at Centrelink. Ive lodged 3 complaints on the website and now have received another debt by email that I owe $6,000 on to of the $9,000. I am unable to sleep at night and feel so scared and anxious about the future. I have no idea how to fight this and feel very alone and helpless.

How do you feel about the way the Government has handled this process?:

The government has designed this system to fail the people so they can trick society into a false sense of security and then slap us with a situation so overwhelming that a lot of us don't know where to turn for help. Centrelink is set up to block information and access to certain key areas so its all gets too much and prolongs the ability to act and correct this huge mistake the government is rolling out.
