I was slammed with a $2,700 debt from the 2012-2013 tax year that DID NOT exist. After having to talk it out with Centrelink over the phone (after trying to go in person to an office, waiting on the phone forever and a day)... it came back as $800. Which still was NOT correct, but you gave me a due date of 14 days and so - as an honest person who wants to do things right and who wants the government to stay away - I paid the damn thing. Right after returning from a 3-month trip to South America. Just a few weeks before Christmas. Thanks Centrelink.
