My parents debt. My mother depressed cried shook from anxiety for over a year.
We were told about this debt 10 yrs after they were put on old age pension even though dad lost his hands when he was 40 and for 25 years could not get health care card for heart and other issues.
Their pension based on mums retirement then when half the money was left 10 years later they sent letter saying 2-3 years over payment???
But the amount was half to what pension was based on.
We went from one tribunalto another then we were told the tribunal was in our favour but we don't care we will garnish your benefits anyway so for a year they took $200 per fortnight. Until they took 11,500.
It destroyed my mothers health and mental state.
They fear they will lose their pension and home if the say anything.
When I see all the government expenses for hotels, flights, accomodation, away from home allounce, $5,000,000 unnecessary security because prime minster doesn't want to live in Kirabili house it upsets me.
Not even health care card for a man with no hands because mum earned $2 over so then she had to work night shift and afternoon shift to pay the bills in a tyre factory, she has lung cancer respetory problems and gets treated like scum when they built this country.
There are far too many handouts to the wrong people.
Cut back government perks then you will have millions to spare.
