Seems politically motivated and very undemocratic and extremely unlawful and unjust

Debt amount:
$5000
Date debt issued:
Thursday, 24 November 2016
Period debt occurred:
July 2013 to June 2014
Tell us about your debt and how has this affected you? e.g. anxiety levels, financial and accommodation stress:

Absolutely disgusted by the clear error Centrelink has made and has not fixed. Same issue, full amount earned over 1 financial year simply applied as being earnt over the full year which is NOT the case. I had periods of unemployment during this period and provided separation certificate which also clearly shows the last 2 months with no casual work. I do not have all of the 30 odd payslips to provide and think this request is unjust. It makes me sick to hear Christian Porter lie through his teeth about the minimum extent of errors this automated system has caused. I ve sent several online complaints with no resolution and have now sent a paper based review of decision along with a complaint to the commonwealth ombudsman. My next step if the review decision is not altered is to apply to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. The whole process is purely disgusting and incorrect and has caused me stress. The compliance link still says 'service unavailable' on Centrelinks website. Furthermore, Centrelink is planning on deducting monies from my Austudy payment as a debt recovery which is not correct!

How do you feel about the way the Government has handled this process?:

Absolutely disgusting. Seems politically motivated and very undemocratic and extremely unlawful and unjust.
