Tell us about your debt and how has this affected you? e.g. anxiety levels, financial and accommodation stress:

I have been on a disability pensions for over 20 years due to a mining injury at work. This injury has left me with chronic pain and depression, so how could I possibly deal with a debt from 8 years ago, and because of a supposed income of an ex-partner. Every fortnight she contacted Centrelink to declare casual earnings. There was no way we missing any or gave the wrong amount but this debt gave me no avenue or options. Luckily (?) I had some money that I had managed to get through a long-drawn out legal battle so I just caved and paid them. I had no fight in me to do anything about it. I was empty.

How do you feel about the way the Government has handled this process?:

From everything I have read and can see about this robodebt it is wrong. It is inaccurate and unfair, and causes untold damage to vulnerable people. I think it’s disgusting that a country like Australia can get it so wrong. I am ashamed and angry.
