Tell us about your debt and how has this affected you? e.g. anxiety levels, financial and accommodation stress:

I received a call from Dun & Bradstreet early in December. I had never received any notices from Centrelink as I have moved house several times since 2011. I was accused of being a "welfare cheat", the D&B staffer said I was falsely claiming benefits and working. The only time I had received Sickness Benefit was after a car crash in August 2010 when I could not work at all & had exhausted all my paid leave from work. I got third party injury comp in 2014 and Centrelink was REPAID IN FULL ($8K) in Feb 2014 by the WA Govt (ICWA) including rent assistance, pharmaceutical benefits etc. Centrelink even reissued an amended NIL payment summary in 2014 & ATO reassessed my tax in Mar 2014 & sent me a tax refund! I have found the whole process incredibly stressful. Have had to locate all the information and send it in to them. Tried to link Centrelink on MyGov but could not do so as the portal wanted my last benefit payment amount, I do not know this as it was rec'd May 2011. I have never had a debt with Dun & Bradstreet before, so I am worried about my credit rating. I am also concerned that I can be stopped from leaving the country as I have this "unpaid" Centrelink debt.

How do you feel about the way the Government has handled this process?:

I cannot believe that Christian Porter is stupid enough to go on tv and say there are no problems with the system. He is obviously not being briefed correctly by his staff or is choosing not to listen.

The whole process should be halted until the matter is fully investigated. I especially believe the transfer of debt files to Dun & Bradstreet should be halted. Our taxpayer money is being used to pay a fee to this company to collect non-existent debt and is a blatant waste of taxpayer funds.
