Centerlink slapped me with a 3k fine/debt for a period I was overseas.
I arrived back in November 2013 from UK and claimed 2 new start payments only.
I have proof of this from bank statements which i opened with NAB on the 5th of November.
Centerlink gave me one month to provide them with payslips which I could not provide up until now.
I am now facing debt collection from Milton Graham.
This has created alot of stress, loss of wages, and has put my job and living arrangements at risk because I work as a casual (trying to gain fulltime to one day achieve the dream of owning my own home) i have been a casual employee for over 10 years.
Not had a holiday or a week off in 4 years.
I am extremely exhausted, stressed, worried that someone will break in and steal my belongings for debt recovery.
I am so disheartened by the government and feel that they have let me and the public down.
How can they steal from me when I do the right thing day in, day out?
I pay my taxes for what?
Im completely over the edge. To the point where i constantly ask myself what am i doing this for? I give up. I honestly give up.
Life totally sucks down here.
Disgraceful. The coalition should be sacked and placed on newstart themselves and try living the life of a casual employee in the hope that one day they will get the chance to own their own home.
