Centerlink claims I owe 15,000 dollars from an over payment they claim they paid me. I am currently bankrupt due to my son needing money as he was ill when he was in Sydney and I helped him out financially. I am on anti depressants and blood pressure medication as a result of this debt and my bankruptcy - just as I began to feel better about my debt I get hit with this robo debt from centrelink.
The government has done nothing to make this process easier on me
I can not ever call them back to discuss this problem as they call on an unidentified number and when they tell me they will call back they do not.
One woman, told me I needed a psychologist and that she would have her on the phone on the Friday when she called back. She did not call me back nor was there any mention of a psychologist when some other guy rang me last Friday afternoon while I was working. He rang Thursday July 18th at 18:12 while I was driving home. And again on Friday 19th of July and promptly hung up.
I am terrified of going to jail. I am 63 years old and scared of being harrassed more and more by these people. I am single and almost getting ready fo rthe aged pension... how can I pay this back as well as my own debt. Please can you help me
